Rihanna and Mos Def Will Be Kicking It

Mos Def continues to take over the movie industry. The rapper will now star in an upcoming film called “Mama Black Widow,” which is based on the 1969 novel of the same name by writer Robert “Iceberg Slim” Beck. Mos Def isn’t the only artist staring in the film; Rihanna will also star in the film, making her big screen debut. Other people in the film includes singer Macy Gray, Brian J. White, Anthony Anderson, Kerry Washington and others.

The movie tells the story of a black family’s migration from the Southern Mississippi field, to Chicago in the 1930’s. The original novel was a graphic tale about the character Otis Tilson, of a black homosexual “queen,” growing up black, gay and poor in Chicago in 1946. Currently in pre-production, the film will be directed by Darren Grant. Mama Black Widow will hit theatres in 2009.
